Tips and Tricks for Beginners in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT

Dissidia Final Fantasy

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is a bit different from your ordinary fighting game as it uses a Brave and HP attack system. Each player has a certain number of Brave points above their health bar that determines the damage they will deal if they use an HP attack. You can use your Bravery attacks to steal your enemies’ Bravery and vice versa.

If you run out of Brave points, you will enter a Bravery break state as your points will recharge. Not only that, your opponent will gain all the points from the Stage Bravery located in the middle of the screen. The key to winning battles in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is to balance your fighting style by alternating between both attacks. If you are low on Brave points, try to land an HP attack to quickly regain your initial points back instead of suffering a Bravery break. Similarly, don’t hoard too many Bravery points with the hopes of getting a one-hit kill as it will usually be easier to take chunks from your enemy’s HP.

Use Your EX Skills

Aside from the standard HP and Bravery attacks, each character also has their own set of EX Skills. You can activate this by pressing Triangle, Triangle + Up on the D-pad, or Triangle + Down on the D-pad. These EX Skills can be a lifesaver as they can grant buffs such as grant double damage, recover HP, increase defense, and even teleport to a target. Healing an ally at the right moment can keep up your team’s momentum while debuffing an enemy will make them easier to take down. Remember to keep them in mind when choosing your character and building your team.

Know Your Role

One new feature in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is the addition of classes: Vanguard, Marksman, Assassin, and Specialist. Each class has their own specific fighting style that makes up for another class’ respective weakness:

  • Vanguards – Acts as the tank of the team and acts best on the frontlines.
  • Assassins –  Speedy characters that have the fastest attack speed and can zoom in on enemies.
  • Marksmen – Fighters that usually stay in the backline and support the team with their ranged attacks.
  • Specialists – Characters that play a bit differently and have their own unique fighting styles.

The most effective way to win matches is by making sure you know which character falls under which class and stick to their designated role. Assassins are strong against Marksmen, while Marksmen can easily take down Vanguards, and Vanguards are great against Assassins. Keep this rock-paper-scissor mechanic in mind when choosing your opponent.

Don’t Forget About Summons

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT takes Summons to a whole new level by letting them take part in fights. Instead of having a passive effect on the battlefield, Summons actually have their own cinematics and various devastating effects on the battlefield. Before each battle starts, the team has the option to choose one out of the seven summons in the game.

Choose from Ifrit, Shiva, Alexander, Leviathan, Odin, Bahamut, and Ramuh that all have passive buffs and attacks that can hurt enemies. Make sure to always target the Summon Cores that appear around the field to charge your gauge. If you see your teammate trying to cast a summon, join them to speed up the process. Bringing them to the battlefield is a great way to turn the tides of battle in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, especially if your team is running out of options.

Communicate With Your Team

Another core feature Dissidia Final Fantasy NT brings to the series is the intense 3v3 fights. If you are playing online, you can either group with your friends or other random players. If you are playing with a group, one great way to win is by communicating with them. There will be a lot going on during battles and it’s easy to get overwhelmed by all of the enemies and information coming at you at once. Make sure to spread any useful information to your friends so they can help you take a Summon Core or help out if enemies are ganging up on you.

If you plan on teaming up with random players, the game has a built-in chat system that you can use before and during battles. Using these simple chat options is a great way to tell your allies what you plan on doing during fights, be it if you plan on switching targets or calling a summon. While this might not be the best replacement for voice comms, it’s always best to inform your team.
