How to Use EX Skills in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT

Recommended Videos

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT makes quite a few changes from past games in the series to adjust its combat for its 3 vs. 3 battles. While Bravery and HP attacks still make up the bulk of what you’ll be doing during battle, Dissidia NT introduces a new way of using EX skills as well.

You’ll bring three different EX Skills into every match with you, mapped to Triangle, Triangle+up, and Triangle+down. All of these are on a cooldown, and once they’re active you can use them at any point before they go back on a cooldown. The skill mapped to just triangle is unique to each character in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, and more often than not they boost some kind of ability for that character or do something unique, like Noctis’ warp that propels him forward toward his target.

The other two EX skills in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT come in sets that can be selected at the character edit screen, and equipped to any characters. A few examples of these skills are Mighty Strikes which boost the damage of your allies’ attacks when they’re near you, or Poisonga which hits your target with a poison spell that saps their BP. The game does a good job of reminding you with audio cues when your EX Skills are ready to use, but make sure that you don’t neglect these abilities as they can give you a valuable boost in the middle of a match.

That’s all you need to know about EX Skills in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT. For more on the game, be sure to check out our ever-expanding wiki.
