How to Play 1v1 and 2v2 Battles in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT
Playing Dissidia Final Fantasy NT can be a lot of fun. Utter visual chaos at times, but a delightfully fun chaos. The game is very heavily designed around the newly-implemented 3v3 battle system, but for players seeking a bit more of an intimate, traditional fighting game scenario then luckily Square Enix has you covered. It’ll take some finagling, but you can indeed have a 1v1 or 2v2 fight in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT.
How do you do this? Unfortunately you can only play 1v1 or 2v2 battles in sparring matches against the AI. To do this though, simply head to offline modes and select Sparring Match. After that, you’ll be taken to the character select screen, and if you want to remove one of the AI from your team or the enemy’s simply head to their card, select AI level, then set it to none. This will completely remove that character from the match, allowing you to set up any combination you want, 1vs1, 3vs1, etc.
Now, bear in mind that at the end of the day, Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is still primarily a 3v3 fighting game. So things like ranked battles and story mode will require as much unfortunately. At the moment there doesn’t seem to be any way to play anything but 3v3 against other players. Of course, we’ll update this guide if anything should change on that front.
That’s all you need to know to set up 1v1 and 2v2 battles in Dissidia Final Fantasy NT. Be sure to check out our wiki for more tips, tricks, and guides.
