How to Get Calculated Trajectory Medals in Destiny 2 to Complete The Mountaintop Quest
Destiny 2’s Season of the Forge is here, kicking off new Black Armory content for eager guardians looking for some new loot. Pinnacle weapons return, and Lord Shaxx, by far the most sadistic of the bunch, has another doozy for you. The Mountaintop grenade launcher looks great, but you’ll need lots of Calculated Trajectory medals. Here’s how to get Calculated Trajectory medals in Destiny 2.
First, let’s back up a second and talk a little bit about The Mountaintop and its quest. This new grenade launcher not only is equipable in your primary weapon slot, but it fires its grenades out in a straight line, very quickly. If you remember “noob tubes” from Call of Duty, you have an idea of how The Mountaintop works.
We might all say we don’t want that in Destiny 2, but we’re all going to try and get one for ourselves, anyway, of course.
The first step requires grinding out enough wins/games in the competitive playlist to obtain the rank of Glory. Once that’s done or if you already are past that, and there’s a good chance that if you found this article you probably already have, you’ll have a few more objectives, the most notorious of which are the Calculated Trajectory medals.
To get Calculated Trajectory medals in Destiny 2, you have to get three kills in one life with a grenade launcher. This can be tough because grenade launchers are usually restricted to power weapon slots and use power ammo which is limited, although there are a few exceptions like Fighting Lion that you can use in your energy weapon slot. Three kills in one life with a grenade launcher will net you one Calculated Trajectory medal in Destiny 2.
There’s really no trick to this aside from just being good with grenade launchers, however there is a way to speed up your progress specifically for completing the pinnacle weapon quest for The Mountaintop.
You’d normally need 100 medals if you played quickplay exclusively, however, Calculated Trajectory medals earned in competitive playlist games count four times. Meaning, you’d only need 25 medals if you did them all there. So definitely do that unless you really have a hard time getting them in a competitive environment.
That does it for how to get Calculated Trajectory Medals in Destiny 2. Be sure to check out our wiki guide for more Destiny 2: Forsaken information, and see our guide for getting all the pinnacle weapons in the Season of the Forge and Black Armory.
