Developed and published by Bandai Namco, Code Vein is a brand new third-person action RPG that bears quite a few similarities to From Software’s Souls series. Here’s how to save your game in Code Vein.
How to Save Your Game in Code Vein
While the Soulsborne games allowed you to save and quit your game anytime you wanted, even if you weren’t anywhere near a bonfire, Code Vein does things a little differently.
As far as we can tell, the only way to ensure that your progress is saved is by interacting with a Mistle, or choosing the Save option from the Mistle menu.
We’ve tested this, and it looks like just interacting with a Mistle is enough to get the game to record your progress, and you’ll be able to quit out without worrying.
If you want to do things the right way, though, you can rest assured knowing that the game will checkpoint your progress whenever you rest at a Mistle. Interacting with a Mistle will also allow you to quit your game; just choose the Save and Return option from the Mistle menu, and you’ll be returned to the home screen.
If you need to quit your game and you’re not near any of your available Mistles, you can also bring up the character menu, and use the d-pad to navigate over to the Quit Game option in the top right corner of the menu.
This will also bring you right back to the title screen. Whenever you want to jump back in, just choose the Continue option, and you’ll load into the game at the last Mistle you interacted with.
This means that you won’t be able to manipulate enemy positioning like you could in the Souls game, and you’ll still need to trek back to where you need to go from your last Mistle.
That’s all you need to know about how to save your game in Code Vein. Be sure to search for Twinfinite or check our Code Vein guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
