Getting More Class Mods in Borderlands 3 & What They Do

Class Mods are one of the pieces of equipment that you can put on your vault hunter to increase their effectiveness in battle. However, they don’t blow up (sorry Torque), nor do you shoot them. Instead, they enhance one of your skills.

When you look at a one, you’ll see that it’s increasing a skill(s) by a certain amount of points. What this means is that the mod is literally adding a skill point to that skill provided you have it equipped on your character. So if you have zero points invested in something, and a class mod adds +1 to to it, now you have 1 point invested in it. If you have 3, it goes to 4.

They can also bring your skills over the usual cap as well and is the only way to do so. So if you’re 5/5 on something, you can 6/5 or more.

Class Mods don’t literally invest a point though, you still need to have actual skill points invested in the tree to advance it and unlock new action and passive abilities.

You must also be level 10 before you can start equipping them, so don’t go crazy searching for them early on.

You can get more Class Mods in the following two ways. First, they can be looted from any loot box around the galaxy. Just like a rare weapon, or shield, you can find all kinds of class mods of various rarity around all over.

You can also purchase them via Dr. Zed’s Meds vending machines all around the galaxy. There’s one such vending machine in Tannis’ room on Sanctuary in case you don’t feel like traveling far.

That’s all you need to know for how to get class mods and what they do in Borderlands 3. For more tips, tricks and FAQs answered, be sure to check out our wiki guide.
