Couches Count as Beds

Couches may not be the most comfortable resting places, but they can till double as a bed. Since you technically can’t rest on them in Fallout 4, this mod makes it so couches now function as beds.

This mod works with vanilla couches only, and there isn’t any fancy animation or any sort. It’s just a simple mod you can use for your settlement if you find that you just need to rest for a bit and there aren’t any resting spots nearby.

Outside Radiation

best, open, world, games, ps4

The Commonwealth is reeking with radiation after the nuclear blast. If you drink untreated water or find yourself attacked by an enemy, your character will start to feel ill. If that isn’t challenging enough for you, this Fallout 4 mod gives you radiation for staying out in the sun.

Outside Radiation tunes up the difficulty by adding one radiation per second so long as your character stays outside. It will stop whenever you enter buildings, but you’ll definitely be spending most of your time exploring the outdoors.

The radiation effect starts as soon as you leave the vault, leaving you little time to prepare. Sill, if you’re up to the challenge, this Fallout 4 mod is definitely worth downloading.

Rechargeable Fusion Cores

Fusion cores are the lifeblood of your power armor. Without it, you won’t be able to wreak havoc across the wasteland. Each power core should provide you with about 20 minutes (real time) of power armor usage before it drains and shuts off.

Since cores are relatively rare, you’ll probably want to use them sparingly. Luckily, this Fallout 4 mod mixes things up by letting you recharge your core instead of tossing them away. This mod comes with all these nifty perks and features:

  • Receive “Spent Fusion Cores” when Fusion Cores are depleted in Power Armor or Gatling Lasers.
  • Ability to drain fusion cores of their energy to be used later (if you so choose).
  • Ability to Charge fusion cores using stored energy.
  • Unique Crafting Table “Fusion Recharging Station” (Uses the Fusion Generator assets).
  • Stored energy generated over time for use in recharging (5/hr).
  • Easy to use UI for recharging/draining to your heart’s content.

Harvest Trees

Have you ever wondered why you can’t harvest normal trees in Fallout 4? These trees could be a great source of wood, only if the game would actually let you cut them down.

With this Fallout 4 mod, you can do exactly that and chop down any of the normal trees for wood. Depending on your luck, you can get five to 100 pieces of wood, too. It’s a great way to stock up on some resources if you ever find yourself running low.

That said, chopping down trees does have its own drawbacks. For starters, you won’t be able to run for 45 seconds after cutting one down.

You’re also restricted from running for three whole minutes, so make sure there aren’t any enemies around when you’re chopping down wood.

Capture the Commonwealth

best fallout 4 mods

Turn Fallout 4 into an all-out turf war with this mode. With this mod, the Commonwealth will get randomly generated capture points scattered around the open world. These points spawn enemies, which you can take down and claim the point for yourself.

Luckily, you can always call on support from your own faction to capture any points you find. If you manage to take a point for yourself, your faction members will guard the area.

Some of the enemies you’ll fight include the Minutemen, Railroad, Operators, Pack, Brotherhood of Steel, and more.

That said, these enemies can also drop by your points and attempt to recapture it –even if you aren’t there. You can keep track of all of the capture points on your Pip-Boy map just in case you plan on heading back.
