Back 4 Blood Crossplay Explained: Can You Play with PlayStation, Xbox & PC Players? Answered

Back 4 Blood is the co-op zombie shooter very much inspired by Left 4 Dead. Developed by a team of veterans who worked on the Valve title, you’ll be fighting through waves of the undead, all the while utilizing a card system to give your character the upper-hand and modify them to suit your playstyle. While it’s possible to play the game on your own, it’s far better playing with others, especially friends. But what if your buddies have picked it up on different platforms? Well, then you’re probably wondering whether there’s a Back 4 Blood crossplay mode so you can play with PlayStation, Xbox and PC players in one lobby. Here’s everything you need to know.

Is There Crossplay in Back 4 Blood?

The good news is that yes, there is cross-play compatibility in Back 4 Blood. This means that if you’re playing on PC, you can also play with other players on Xbox and PlayStation consoles, too.

In order to ensure that you’re all set to enjoy Back 4 Blood Crossplay, you’ll need to make sure that the setting is enabled in-game.

To do this, head to the ‘Matchmaking Preferences’ option, and here you should simply find a ‘Crossplay’ option.

As long as this is toggled to ‘On,’ you’ll be able to invite friends from other platforms into your game, and join other players regardless of what platform you’re all playing on.

If you ever want to turn off Back 4 Blood’s crossplay option, simply head into the same ‘Matchmaking Preferences’ menu from the lobby screen and toggle it ‘Off.’ In this menu, you’ll also find options to create a Private lobby so you can just play with friends (even if there’s not four of you), as well as a ‘Voice Preference’ so you can mute other players entirely if you don’t want to hear random strangers shouting strange things down the mic.

That’s everything you need to know regarding Back 4 Blood’s crossplay compatibility on PC, PlayStation and Xbox consoles. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to search for Twinfinite, or see more of our coverage below.
