The Escapists Is Coming to the PS4

Sony has just published a blog post announcing that the award winning sandbox strategy indie game, The Escapists is coming to the PlayStation 4.

Originally released on PC and then on the Xbox One, The Escapists puts players in the shoes of a prison inmate as he or she plots their escape. This is easier said than done however, you’ll need to work around the strict prison schedule, avoid the attention of the guards, perform favors for fellow inmates for supplies, and craft or steal weapons and tools that can aid you in your breakout.

The Escapists includes six different prisons to escape from. You’ll start with the minimal security prison of Center Perks and work your way up to the Stalag Flucht POW camp. There are also a variety of ways to escape from prison, from the classic tunneling seen in The Shawshank Redemption, to a complete prison takeover.

Players can even earn cash by doing prison jobs such as Laundry, Janitor, Mail Man, Metal Shop, Kitchen, Wood Work, Tailor, Deliveries, Gardener, and Library work. They can also do favors for other prisoners to earn quick rewards, but these can be more risky.

A release date for the PlayStation 4 version has not been announced but we’ll update you as soon as we know.
