I had the chance to play the demo of Forza Horizon quite a few times, and I wasn’t disappointed by it. It’s definitely not going to be the racing simulator we’ve all come to love, but it’s still going to be a gorgeous, exciting racing experience. It features a neutered Forza 4 engine to cater to a wider audience, but it’s still able to capture a faux-simulation experience after turning off all assists. It may not be Forza Motorsport 5, but it should help tie you over until the next true simulation experience from Turn 10 Studios.
Notable changes, additions, etc.
- Free roaming is confirmed for the title.
- Damage may not be simulation. It is certainly aesthetic, they just don’t want to fully handicap the driver while in the middle of nowhere.
- A person I spoke to said that customization is still here, but tuning is NOT included.
- The roads are open while you’re racing, but a clear path is drawn for you with the braking assistant on the road.
- I noticed an opening in the guard rail, tried to go off of it, and the invisible wall stopped me.
I hope you enjoy the video preview, and if you have any questions at all about the demo, you can leave a comment in the comment section below, or send me a tweet @imbrettlol. Thanks for checking it out!
