NIS’s Jordan Vincent recently took to the PlayStation blog to announced that Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance will be coming to North America on Oct. 6.
Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance will be the sixth home console entry in the series. The plot will follow a young demon called Killia who has teamed up with five overlords in order to get revenge against a ” powerful new Demon Emperor” called Void Dark.
In Disgaea 5, players will be able to recruit more than 40 races and jobs for their army but the game will introduce two new battle mechanics. For starters, Disgaea 5‘s main characters will be capable of using a new attack known as the Alliance Attack. According to Vincent, Alliance Attacks will only happen ” when they have built up a strong enough bond with one another.”
The second new battle mechanic is called “Revenge Mode” which will grant characters boosted stats when their Revenge gauge is filled. This gauge will fill slowly as the characters watch their allies taking a beating, and it sounds perfect for a game whose plot is all about vengeance.
Along with these new battle features, Disgaea 5 will also be the first game in the series where players will be visiting multiple Netherworlds. He also revealed that Disgaea 5‘s story will feature over 45 hours of content and at max there will be over 100 enemies on screen at the same time.
Finally, via the PlayStation Blog, Vincent also announced that Disgaea 5 will be getting a Launch Day Edition. The Launch Day Edition will come with a copy of the game, a reversible cover, a 32 page artbook, the original soundtrack and a collectible book to store everything in.
