Nightwing
Here we have Bludhaven’s most valuable asset: Nightwing. If the position of Batman’s side-kick Robin is an elaborate form of an internship, then stepping into your own costume and city is totally landing the job. In doing this, he became an ally that Batman could potentially see not as an underling, but as an equal.
Nightwing’s presence in Batman: Arkham Knight is limited to a Most Wanted side-missions series in which he and Batman take down the Penguin and his henchmen. But for the short time you get to play with Nightwing, it’s a whole lot of fun. Above, this cosplayer expertly imitates the costume, remembering of course to equip himself with Nightwing’s signature night sticks.
The Penguin
Speaking of Penguin, although he didn’t have a big role in the Batman: Arkham Knight video game, that doesn’t mean he should be forgotten. Oswald Cobblepot, a.k.a. the Penguin, is one of Gotham’s most wealthy and influential villains. When the Scarecrow takes over Gotham with his fear toxins, the Penguin sees it as the perfect opportunity to step up his weapons smuggling game, giving Batman and Nightwing the pleasure of dropping by his warehouses to foil his scheme.
Admittedly, the Penguin cosplayer above does not exactly imitate the Penguin from within Batman: Arkham Knight. While that Penguin was depicted more averagely, the cosplayer above goes above and beyond, remembering to add all the necessary flair that a true Gotham villain should display, including a black top hat, the iconic umbrella, an expertly secured monocle, and a professional make-up job.
