Oceanhorn 2 Knights of the Lost Realm

The first Oceanhorn game was one of the more popular Zelda-like titles over the recent years. With its charming art style and fun gameplay, Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas became quite a huge hit.

That said, it isn’t all too surprising that we’re getting a sequel sometime soon with updated graphics and improved gameplay. Knights of the Lost Realm is another adventure in the Oceanhorn timeline, following a new Hero who sets off to become a knight.

Oceanhorn 2 keeps plenty of the same Zelda-like action from the first game, including classic Action RPG action with more dungeons to explore, items to collect, and weapons to use. Players can use their equipment to solve dungeon puzzles and use a wide range of equipment to fend off enemies.

Not to mention that players can explore a vast world that’s seemingly akin to Breath of the Wild. Oceanhorn 2 still has no official release date, but things are looking really smooth so far. With its polished graphics and Zelda-like gameplay, this Knights of the Lost Realm should definitely be on every Zelda fan’s list.

Tunic

First announced as Secret Legend back in 2015, Tunic centers around an adorable little fox who sets off on a grand adventure. The trailer alone shows off its prominent Zelda-like features, although it looks far from a carbon copy.

This isometric video game sees the fox exploring different maps and dungeons and fending off enemies with his trusty sword. Combat is fairly straightforward, but players can seemingly pull off some flashy combos that seem handy when overpowered by enemies.

While the game might certainly look charming, don’t let appearances fool you. Tunic will offer quite the challenge and won’t be afraid to smite players who come unprepared. As with Breath of the Wild, you also have the option of exploring areas you don’t belong in yet.

Overall, Tunic is a charming take on the traditional Zelda series with a few extra surprises for good measure. The action-adventure game is slated to release sometime in 2019, with no official release date as of now.

Kharon’s Crypt

Fans of the classic Zelda games will get a kick out of Kharon’s Crypt. From its presentation down to its Zelda-like gameplay, this haunting adventure shows plenty of promise.

In Kharon’s Crypt, you take control of a spirit who wanders through the halls of a tomb that’s packed with all sorts of enemies. Luckily, you have a few tricks up your sleeve, including the ability to possess any of your enemies.

Players will be weaving through different rooms that are reminiscent of A Link to the Past on the GameBoy. Even the menus look like something you’d find out of a Zelda game, giving off that same classic feeling.

In fact, Kharon’s Crypt is just oozing with nostalgia with how it presents itself on a classic GameBoy-esque screen. The presentation is nothing short of evocative, to say the least.

Kharon’s Crypt doesn’t have a set release date, but we’ll see it launch on plenty of systems once it eventually releases.

The Untold Legacy

The Untold Legacy follows the story of a young boy on a journey to become the hero of a forsaken kingdom, guided by a mysterious force. If that premise doesn’t scream Zelda, we don’t know what else will.

However, their similarities run deeper than story alone as The Untold Legacy is packed with exploration and dungeon crawling action. Players will have to overcome a wealth of different obstacles and puzzles using different strategies and abilities, such as pushing blocks and fetching items.

This game also comes with a handcrafted open world and follows the same formula as A Link Between Worlds. Players can freely explore which area they want, and the game won’t bother holding your hand.

With its vibrant graphics and Zelda-like exploration, The Untold Legacy definitely looks promising. The game is slated to launch sometime in Q2 2019, with no word on its official release date.

The Wishgranter

Unlike the other games from this list, The Wishgranter is more of Zelda meets Dark Souls and Metroidvania. While it’s heavily inspired by the classic Nintendo series, the game touches upon some other challenging aspects that help it stand on its own.

The Wishgranter is a roguelike action-adventure game that has players sprawling through randomly-generated dungeons. These areas are jam-packed with all sorts of enemies that can leave you for dead if you don’t come prepared.

Your character can collect all sorts of different weapons for their adventure, which leads us to its more action-oriented Zelda-like combat. You’ll have to weave through enemy attacks while waiting for an opening to strike back with a string of combos.

Fans who love a good challenge along with Zelda-like mechanics should definitely keep an eye out on The Wishgranter.
