One Piece, One Piece: World Seeker, Game Releases March 2019

It’s not often an anime game strays from the musou and fighter genres, but in the case of Bandai Namco Entertainment’s One Piece: World Seeker it looks like it was a wise decision.

Set on the newly imagined locale of Jail Island, the game lets players loose as Monkey D. Luffy in an open world full of enemies to battle, new friendships to form, and evil plots concocted by the island’s warden that are in need of smashing.

Unlike some past One Piece title’s though, Luffy’s full array of moves are at the player’s disposal.

In addition to using combat techniques like the Gum Gum Pistol and Gear Fourth, players can scale buildings and fly through the air using Luffy’s Gum Gum abilities.

As such, traveling through the world gives off the appearance of an episode of the anime brought to life, made all the more immersive thanks to the accompanying soundtrack composed by Kohei Tanaka.

It’s one of the more promising anime games the industry has seen in a while, and whether you’re a fan of open world games or just a die-hard One Piece lover, World Seeker should be at the top of your list for releases to watch.
