Yooka-Laylee
Yooka-Laylee is an obvious choice for amiibo support, a charming platformer where many of Nintendo’s mascots would feel right at home. Having some minor cameos through amiibo would be a good way to add some charming additions to the game. Imagine seeing Mario or Kirby pop up in the style of Yooka-Laylee, similarly to how Shovel Knight cameos in the game.
Of course being able to bring Nintendo characters into Yooka-Laylee would be ideal, but a good alternative would be to add costumes or skins for the main characters. Seeing Yooka and Laylee run around in a Mario and Luigi getup would be a fun addition to the Switch version of the game. Playtonic will definitely want to do something to distinguish Yooka-Laylee on Nintendo’s console in order to encourage fans to pick it up on Switch instead of the versions that have already been out on PS4 and Xbox One. Amiibo would be the perfect way to do just that.
