Lagiacrus
Lagiacrus was the flagship monster for Monster Hunter Tri (3) and was quite the powerhouse. Since Tri was the first Monster Hunter game to feature underwater traversal and combat, the majority of the time spent fighting this electric-type beast was off-land.
While the underwater fighting didn’t work too well, Lagiacrus is still one of the coolest monsters out there in terms of design and attacks.
We haven’t seen Lagiacrus since Generation Ultimate, but how rad would it be to fight him once again in Monster Hunter: World? It would be pretty spectacular to see this beast fully-realized in the gorgeous Astera ecosystem.
Agnaktor
I must have some obsession with the monsters that were first introduced in Monster Hunter 3 but Agnaktor is seriously one of the best leviathans out there.
It swims through the lava similarly to the way that Lagiarus moves through the water and it has a molten shell over it that hardens and softens depending on its environment.
There’s no word on whether or not Agnaktor will be making its way to Monster Hunter: World but man, having a fire-type monster like this in the Hoarfrost region would be amazing.
I know it doesn’t really make sense to have a fire-element monster in a snowy region, but it could work if Agnaktor had an ice variant version.
Diamyo Hermitaur
There are so many monsters in Monster Hunter: World that resemble flying dragons, dinosaurs, and birds, but we don’t really get to see many other types of animals, like a crab, for example.
Daimyo Hermitaur was first introduced in Monster Hunter 2 and was last seen in Generations Ultimate and is basically an enormous grab monster that has the skull of a Monoblos on its back, which helps protect it against your attacks.
Hermitaur isn’t one of the most formidable large monsters out there but it still would be pretty refreshing to see it added to MHW as new downloadable content –we need more diversity in the monsters and Daimyo would be an excellent start.
Lao-Shan Lung
Lao-Shan Lung is a classic Elder Dragon that comes from the very first Monster Hunter game from 2004 and instead of using any sort of elemental attacks to decimate hunters, it relies on brute force and strength, making it one of the strongest Elder Dragons to date.
There are already plenty of Elder Dragons found in Monster Hunter: World, especially with the multiple monsters that came in with the Iceborne expansion, but adding in one more Elder Dragon like Lao-Shan Lung would be a massive treat for hardcore MH veterans.
It may be difficult to add this monster in since it is ridiculous large, but if I had the choice to add one large event quest to World, Lao-Shan Lung would be it.
Astalos
Astalos’ design and name is obviously based off other flying wyverns like the siblings, Rathalos and Rathian, but Astalos’ green-colored plating and electric-charged attacks make it stand out from the rest.
Just imagine seeing a three-way Turf War happen in the Ancient Forest between Astalos, Rathian, and Rathalos with fireballs and spark balls flying about creating a cacophony of elemental attacks all through the air?
It would be pretty cool to see and since Astalos is a fairly new monster that was introduced in MH Generations, adding it to MH World would be fantastic and a great way to popularize the monster a bit more for those folks who missed out on the 3DS games.
