As Eivor and her crew of Viking raiders tear their way through Britain, pillaging resources and wrecking shop as they go, they’ll set up their own settlements along the way. Here, players have the ability to build various buildings that can open up a whole bunch of new options and features of the game. In this guide, we’re going to be running you through the best settlement buildings in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, so you know which ones to build first.
Best Settlement Buildings in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Bureau
Our first pick is the Bureau. This will allow you to begin the Order of the Ancients questline which sees players seeking out and taking on powerful enemies all across the map.
Once built, the Bureau will see Hytham reside in and around it, and it’s him you’ll want to speak to about getting the required clues to hunt down the Order of the Ancients.
Barracks
You can get away with not building the Barracks if you really wanted to, but for those wanting to finetune the look of one of their Viking raiders, you’ll definitely want to make this a priority.
The Barracks allows players to customize their own Jomsviking, a mercenary who will essentially be your second-in-command. You’re free to customize all parts of their armor and weaponry, and you can even change their name to something sinister so it matches their terrifying appearance.
Merchant Outpost
In our personal opinion, the Merchant Outpost is one of, if not the best settlement building in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. This simple but effective building allows players to add a trader to their settlement.
This means you can buy and sell various goods with the merchants found around the world. In short, it makes getting arrows, runes and other crafting materials you may need far, far easier.
Shipyard
The shipyard is where you’re able to keep your longship in tip-top condition. By buying this settlement building, you’ll then unlock the option to customize the look of your Longship. It also allows you to upgrade your Longship in more meaningful ways that affect gameplay, for example increasing the travel speed.
Cartographer
Finally, you’ve got the Cartographer. Costing 800 Supplies and 60 Raw Materials, this building allows you to get special maps that’ll show you more detailed layouts of the various territories.
These Cartographer maps reveal the locations of hidden secrets and other treasures hiding in England. If you’re looking to see everything Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has to offer, these maps make doing so a whole lot easier.
There you have the best settlement buildings to get first in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Head over to our guide wiki for more tips and tricks, or check out more of our coverage below.
