FIFA 20: How to Score Corners

This article is over 5 years old and may contain outdated information

Heading has been nerfed heavily for FIFA 20, so it’s a little frustrating that EA Sports has released so many objectives that require you to to score headers or from crosses. One of those objectives asks you to score from a corner. So that you don’t have to wait hundreds of matches just for a little bit of XP, here’s everything you need to know about how to score corners in FIFA 20.

The main problem you’re going to face is actually getting a header on target. Players will win the ball in the air, but the actual header can go pretty much anywhere.

However, there are some other tactics you can try and use. It might not be scoring directly from a corner in the traditional sense, but it will still count towards the objective.

How to Score Corners in FIFA 20

The tactic that I’ve found worked for scoring corners is to try and get a flick on at the near post, whether it be with your player’s head or foot.

Then, since rebounds and lucky bounces are a reliable way of scoring in FIFA 20, you can hope that one of your players wins the ball from the flick on or a secondary bounce off the keeper or one of the defenders falls your way.

You can then hopefully tap it into the empty net and it’ll count as scoring from the corner, even if it isn’t directly. I’m not sure exactly how it works, the game seems to determine when each phase of play ends, so you just have to score before it’s over.

It’s best to just underhit the corner and hope for the flick on than swing the ball into the box, because the standard technique rarely works.

Time needed: 1 minute

In short, here’s how to score corners in FIFA 20:

  1. Aim for one of your players at the front post.

  2. Try to get a flick on that sees the ball continue across the face of the goal.

  3. Hope the ball falls to one of your players or you profit from a rebound off the goalkeeper.
