There isn’t a ton of information about this, but we do know that Mark Gordan, Douglas Gresham, and Vincent Sieber are involved, serving as executive producers on the films. They are also set to serve as producers on the Narinia shows.

This deal is interesting because it means that Netflix will hold the rights to all seven Chronicles of Narnia books, a first for the series. There is no word on exactly how long this deal is supposed to last, but it will at least go on for multiple years, Netflix confirms.

“Families have fallen in love with characters like Aslan and the entire world of Narnia, and we’re thrilled to be their home for years to come,” a statement from Netflix content boss, Ted Sarandos, confirming that this is not a short term project.

In a statement from C.S. Lewis’ stepson, “It is wonderful to know that folks from all over are looking forward to seeing more of Narnia, and that the advances in production and distribution technology have made it possible for us to make Narnian adventures come to life all over the world.”

The Chronicles of Narnia have been wildly successful, selling over 100 million copies to date. At this time, there is no set release date, but we will keep you posted when that information becomes available.
