How to Change Party Members in Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire

Recommended Videos

Just as in the first Pillars of Eternity game, Pillars of Eternity 2 Deadfire tasks you with recruiting a team of warriors with different motivations, skillsets, and backgrounds. You’ll start off with a humble party of just you and your most loyal supporters, but eventually, as you explore the Deadfire Archipelago, you’ll add more to your ranks.

However, the cap that you can have active at any given moment is five. After you reach more than five party members, you’ll need to send someone home to patiently wait until they are needed again.

To change and swap party members out in Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire, you first need to head out to the world map. From there, on the bottom left, you can see who is currently in your active party. To the right of their portraits, you’ll see a notepad and a pencil icon – click on that. In that menu, you’ll see your current party, as well as your entire roster of possible party members. First, click who you want to dismiss, and then replace them (if you want) with who you want to recruit back into your party. Then, when you return to an area where you can walk around as a party, your new makeup will be reflected.

That does it for how to change party members in Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire. For more on PoE 2, be sure to search Twinfinite and best of luck out on Deadfire Archipelago
