How to Guard Cancel in Dragon Ball FighterZ

Recommended Videos

Dragon Ball FighterZ is one of those games that’s fairly easy to pick up and play, but has a ton of advanced techniques which make it difficult to master. Being able to guard cancel can get you out of harm’s way, allowing you to switch a character out quickly before your opponent unleashes a lethal combo on them.

To guard cancel in Dragon Ball FighterZ, you’ll need to first make sure you’re blocking. You do this by pressing back on the left stick/ d-pad. Once your opponent attacks, you want to wait for your character to be in a stun animation while blocking. At this point, press the L1/ LB button and press forward (right if you’re on the left-hand side of the screen and vice-versa for the other), causing your current fighter to tag in a teammate who can deliver a swift counter-attack.

Being able to guard cancel in Dragon Ball FighterZ can take a lot of practicing to ensure you get the timing just right. Be sure to make good use of the game’s Practice mode so you can get it perfected before heading online to take on others.

That’s all you need to know to pull off a guard cancel in the game. For more on Dragon Ball FighterZ, be sure to check out our comprehensive wiki.
