Sonic Forces (Nov. 7)

Sonic Forces is poised to be the latest 3D Sonic game in the series, and it’s looking darker than ever. With the villainous Eggman threatening to take over the world, the developers wanted the game’s bad guys to appear threatening and menacing, along with a more forlorn setting to suit the story’s tone.

In addition to that, longtime fans will finally get the chance to create their very own avatar and be part of the Sonic world. The game features character creation through an Avatar system that allows players to customize their original character and go adventuring with Sonic. Though it is a 3D Sonic game, the developers have also included old fan-favorite characters and hope to provide fun 2D gameplay experiences for those who would prefer that.

L.A. Noire Remastered (Nov. 14)

Originally released in 2011, L.A. Noire had a bit of a mixed reception. While a majority of players loved the game’s detective work and brilliant use of facial capture during the interrogation sections, many also criticized its linear nature and divisive ending.

That said, if you don’t have a problem with linear stories and narratives, L.A. Noire Remastered is a good one to pick up on your Switch this month. Following the story of detective Cole Phelps, players get to rise through the ranks of the LAPD as they’re tasked with investigating and solving brutal murders in a 1940’s Los Angeles. Rockstar and Team Bondi have done an exceptional job with bringing the city to life, and considering how the game’s cases are broken up into separate chapters with breaks in-between, this is a great cop drama game to play on the Switch because of its portable form factor as well.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 (Nov. 14)

LEGO games are always a joy to play through, and you’ll be able to go on yet another exciting superhero adventure when LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 drops on the Switch this month. The character roster features heroes like the Guardians of the Galaxy and Doctor Strange, along with other old faces like Captain America and Iron Man. Those are just a handful of characters that will be in this entry, and the full cast is pretty extensive.

Similar to past LEGO games, Marvel Super Heroes 2 is an action-adventure title that has players collecting LEGO blocks, fighting off villains and bad guys, and also engaging in a few puzzle-solving scenarios. Players can gather blocks to build devices to help them progress through a level, and being able to experience the full campaign in co-op is also a plus.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Nov. 17)

It seems that Skyrim will never die. First shown off in the Switch’s debut trailer late last year, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was the one game that surprised everyone. Though it was originally released for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC back in 2011, it continues to be relevant even today. Skyrim still enjoys a massive player base on PC, with the release of the remastered Special Edition and the ability to play with mods.

Though mod support won’t be available for the Switch version of the game, being able to carry this massive fantasy adventure around with you everywhere is very appealing. Skyrim on Switch will also receive some Nintendo-exclusive features, such as a Link skin and a Hyrule-themed shield so you can go gallivanting around Tamriel, pretending you’re on a quest to save Zelda.

Resident Evil Revelations (Nov. 28)

Resident Evil: Revelations 1 and 2

The Revelations games best show off what the Resident Evil series has to offer. Before the release of Resident Evil 7, fans had lamented the direction in which the series has gone, and many longed for it to return to its survival horror roots. Both Revelations spin-off titles do exactly that.

The first game is set on the ghost ship Queen Zenobia, where veteran Jill Valentine and her partner Parker are tasked with locating boulder-puncher Chris Redfield. The game’s episodic nature has you take control of both Jill and Chris in turns, and the isolated environments are fantastic for keeping you on your toes as you scavenge for ammo and herbs while avoiding the creepy Regenerator-like monsters.

Revelations 2 improves upon every single aspect of the first game, and this time it stars Resident Evil 2 heroine Claire Redfield, as well as the magnum-toting Barry Burton. It also introduces two new stellar support characters, Moira and Natalia, who add considerable depth to the series’ lore. Both games come with a fantastic Raid Mode, as well as Switch-exclusive retro mini-games that you can play on the side.
