How Long The Destiny 2 PC Beta Is and How Many Quests There Are

While PS4 and Xbox One owners have already had the opportunity to test out Destiny 2’s beta, PC players have been waiting anxiously to get their turn. Fortunately, the time has finally come. Early access for the Destiny 2 PC Beta started August 28 for players who pre-ordered the game and everyone else will be able to download the beta on August 29. But just how much content are these players eagerly waiting for?

The short and sweet answer is “not much.” There isn’t a whole lot of content available in the Destiny 2 PC beta but don’t let that fool you. The experience is still a rich one that will allow you to get a feel for multiple different elements of the highly anticipated sequel. The Destiny 2 PC beta will let players try out different activities from the Campaign, Crucible, and Strike game modes.

For the Campaign, you’ll start things off by creating your own character. Once you finish that, you will be allowed to play through the first mission, Homecoming.

For Crucible, you’ll be able to test out two different activities—Countdown and Control. Control is probably the more self-explanatory and familiar of the two. This mode will allow you to compete with another team for control of objective zones. Players in this mode will earn points by defeating their opponent while also maintaining control of the objective. Countdown, however, is a new addition for Destiny 2. The Destiny 2 PC Beta will allow you to try out the new game mode, which is described as an “Attack and Defend objective game type with Elimination rules.”

Then there is Strike. Players who partake in the PC beta will only have access to one Strike activity—The Inverted Spire. This will place Destiny 2 players together on one team as they attempt to complete different objectives on the planet Nessus. If you want to get a feel for the new, more dynamic structure given to these types of group missions, this is where you’ll want to spend most of your time in the PC beta.

Unfortunately, if you were hoping to get a sneak peek at The Farm, Destiny 2’s new social space that console players were briefly allowed access to, you may be out of luck. At this time, it doesn’t look like PC players will have this content included in their demo unless Bungie decides to surprise everyone with it on the last day of the PC beta window.
