Today during a live unboxing stream of the Sonic Mania collector’s edition, it was revealed that unfortunately for PC owners, the game will be delayed until Aug. 29. PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One owners will still get their copy on-time, four days from now on Aug. 15.

Sonic Mania will be comprised of mostly returning classic stages with a twist, but also will have its own new zones including Studiopolis Zone which had new footage of its first act shown briefly at the end of the live stream.

Also, during the special announcement live stream the presenters, which included Sonic Team creative director, Kazuyuki Hoshino and the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog on Twitter and meme mastermind Aaron Webber, revealed that certain copies of the collector’s edition will be signed by members of the Sonic Team. 26 boxes will be signed, and will be obviously quite rare, emulating a “golden ticket”-like scenario.

Finally, a retro-style manual for Sonic Mania was shown up close, and it was revealed that it would be a giveaway for PAX West goers, as well as a potential giveaway for Sonic fan-sites to distribute.

We’re just four days away from seeing if Sonic Mania will live up to its lofty expectations. Are you excited or keeping your expectations low? Let us know in the comments.

Update: Here’s a letter from the team shared via Sonic’s Twitter.
