The Nintendo Switch is finally out, giving players the opportunity to take their home console fun on the go with them. While many will be happy for the Nintendo Switch to go into sleep mode, allowing you to carry on with the action almost immediately, other will want to know how to turn off the system completely.

To turn off the Nintendo Switch, simply hold down the power button on the top of the system. Keep holding down the power button for about five seconds until you’re given a menu with Power Options as one of the choices. Select this and then simply press the Turn Off option. This will then turn off your Nintendo Switch system.

Turning off the Switch will allow you to conserve the battery which can deplete rather quickly if you’re using it out of the dock. Unfortunately, there is no way to power down the Switch with your Joy-Con or Pro Controller. You’ll have to stand up and hold down the button on the top of the tablet once again.
