WWE 2K16: How to Get & Pick Up Weapons

What fun is wrestling without a few weapons? Find out where to get yours inside.

Professional wrestling fans have always had a fondness for the occasional use of a weapon within the squared circle. Indeed there are those that consider a steel chair shot to be just as fundamental as a headlock.

As such, the desire to grab a weapon and start going to town on your poor opponent is going to come over most WWE 2K16 players at some point. So you go to outside of the ring, hit the weapon grab button and… nothing happens. You try another side of the ring and… nothing happens. What’s going on here?

Well, you’re on the right track, but the game can be pretty finicky with positioning when it comes to getting a weapon. When you’re outside the ring, you’ll want to go to either the side of the ring next to the announcers table or the side next to the entrance ramp, as these tend to be your best bets.

Once there, make sure you are in the center of the apron before pressing the weapon grab button (Left Bumper on Xbox, L1 on PlayStation, Q on PC). This is where the game gets very picky, so you may have to make some adjustments before finding that sweet spot. Also, be sure that you are in a match that has some kind of no disqualification stipulation unless you want to lose the match just for the effort of grabbing a weapon.

When you do find the right spot, you’ll be presented with a wheel that lets you choose your weapon. It takes a little practice, but eventually this will become second nature.
