Spearhead Games returns to development with a third-person action game set to add some more small-scale color exclusive to the PlayStation 4. More than a vibrant adventure, Stories: The Hidden Path entices not with gameplay but a dynamic story. Simon Darveau, co-founder of Spearhead Games, introduces Stories: The Hidden Path on the PlayStation Blog.

Anthropomorphic action adventure set to prevent world destruction sounds commonplace, though Stories: The Hidden Path adds a self-aware narrator and another big game changer. What now seems like a marketable trait nowadays, choice made in Stories affect the storyline “in real-time, and the narrator adapts his tale dynamically to reflect your course of action.” A move seemingly greater than varied loot pick-ups and endings, Darveau promises players Stories will “Have you diving deeper into the narrative nuances each time you play.”

“Stories is an action-RPG set in a vibrant universe filled with floating islands, majestic airships, and flamboyant magic. Our hero is Reynardo, a sky corsair in a bit of a bind. As the sole survivor of the vanguard, he is the last line of defense against the mighty imperial armada about to overtake the entire realm. Reynardo fights against impossible odds, knowing that the fate of everything he holds dear rests on his shoulders.

We’re building Stories to feel like an enchanted book with a different tale to tell each time you open it. Every choice you make in the game affects the storyline in real-time, and the narrator adapts his tale dynamically to reflect your course of action. With beautiful illustrations at every turn of the page, Stories will have you diving deeper into the narrative nuances each time you play.”

In addition, with the upcoming PAX Prime convention, Seattle’s convention center hosts a playable Stories: The Hidden Path at booth #6912. Likely PAX Prime will be the venue for Spearhead Games to flaunt its hook. How much would you expect the game to change? Let us know!
