When it comes to 2K, sometimes too much of a good thing can simply be too much. But when it comes to modifying your player, unlimited options rarely tends to be a bad thing. With the long-running basketball franchise back for another round, there are plenty of ways players can customize their superstar. Today, we’re here to break down just how to use NBA 2K23’s jump shot creator and create the best jump shots.
NBA 2K23 Jump Shot Creator Guide
First thing’s first—before diving into the options themselves, here’s a very brief breakdown on how to access the jump shot creator in NBA 2K23:
- Hit Start to bring up the Menu.
- Scroll to MyPlayer and select Animations.
- Edit or Create your own jump shot.
Mix and match the styles that best suit your player.
Now that’s the very straightforward explanation. When it comes to creating a jump shot that is best for you, however, so much of that depends on the very type of player you are. For example, my player above is 5’9″, and it would benefit me to construct a jump shot that gives not only good release height but also good release speed. Depending on the type of player you are—small, big, and so on—your jump shot will be set to the default options, which reflect that. Again, in my case, Default Small.
So, which type of jump shot works best is a question only you can answer. Release height may not be as important if you’re taller. Release speed may seem crucial, but it takes a little getting used to with the shot meter. It is all about mixing and matching styles. Depending on your player’s height and current attributes, more jump shot variations will be made available to you. And if you’re worried about getting carried away with the creator, don’t. 2K23 lets you save up to 50 of your very own jump shots.
And that’s that, 2K fans—everything you need to know in order to use NBA 2K23’s jump shot creator and make the best jump shots. As is the case with most of these modifications, it all comes down to rhythm, comfort, and repetition. So play around with it, and don’t be afraid to have some fun.
