Dodging in Mario Strikers Battle League

This dodge (and the perfect one) can be used at any time while playing. Simply press the R button to dodge in the direction you’re holding the left stick. If you’re not holding any direction, then the player will either dodge sideways or forwards.

It’s important to remember to not spam the dodge button (R). Dodging three times in a row in close succession will tire out the character and make it impossible for them to dodge for a short time.

When an item is thrown or a player on the opposing team goes for a tackle, press R right before you’re about to get hit. Pull this off with perfect timing and you’ll get a short speed boost which just might lead to a breakaway.
