How to Get the Poke Radar

A few new gameplay features and possibilities become available to you once you’ve caught all 150 Pokemon in the Sinnoh Pokedex, and that’s exactly how to obtain the Poke Radar. Entry 151 is a gifted Manaphy, so it doesn’t count, but once the other 150 are collected, go visit Professor Rowan in Sandgem Town.

Rowan will check your Pokedex and give you the Poke Radar as a reward for its completion. Professor Oak will also appear to give you the National Dex, meaning a whole bunch of new Pokemon will become available to you at that point.

How to Use the Poke Radar

Once you have it, the Poke Radar can be found in the Key Items pocket of the bag. Register it for quick access because you’ll likely be using it quite often. Simply use the item by activating it in any patch of tall grass — it doesn’t work while surfing or in caves.

The device will cause patches of grass to shake, so walk over to the shaking grass to encounter rare Pokemon that exist both inside and outside of the Sinnoh Pokedex. Using a repel to avoid regular grass encounters is also a good idea when activating the Poke Radar because Chains can start that will cause rare Pokemon to keep appearing from just one radar activation.
