After beating the first two training sections, you’ll come to a room with a crashed UNSC ship in the center, and when you head on-board, you’ll have to take on an invisible Arbiter enemy with an energy sword. Once you’ve taken care of them, though, you’ll start to hear a recording of a woman and small child saying things like ‘I love you daddy’ and ‘see you soon.’

Where to Find the ‘I Love You Daddy’ Recording

The source of the recording is actually coming from the top floor of the crashed ship where you fought the Arbiter. Head back up the steps and go towards the entrance where you first would have walked onto the ship.

On the floor here, you’ll find a small, flashing green circle laying on the floor. Look down at this and you’ll have the option to press and hold X to interact with it and pick it up.

What to Do When You Hear the ‘I Love You Daddy’ Recording in Halo Infinite

When you hear this, you need to simply find the source of the recording being played. This can be found on the upper floor of the crashed ship you’ve just fought the Arbiter on. Once he’s defeated, head back upstairs and walk towards the side of the ship that you entered on. Look along the floor and you should see a small flashing green circle on the ground.

Walk over to this, look down at it and then press and hold X. This will cause Master Chief to investigate the source of the recording, and a small cutscene will play out providing some additional context and story tidbits.

After that, you’re free to walk off the ship and carry on your way to take down Escharum in one of the game’s final boss fights.

That’s everything you need to know to find the source of the ‘I love you daddy’ recording in Halo Infinite’s final missions. For more tips, tricks and guides, head on over to our wiki or see more of our coverage on the game below.
