Halo Infinite Tips & Tricks

  1. You can shoot the plasma cannons off the side of enemy reinforcement drop ships and then pick them up to use yourself.
  2. Press up on the d-pad to toggle Master Chief’s helmet torch on and off.
  3. Use down on the d-pad to use your Ordnance ability, revealing the locations of weapons and collectibles in your nearby surroundings.
  4. Opening Mjolnir Armory crates unlocks multiplayer cosmetic items.
  5. Press left on the d-pad to open the Grenade menu. Press in different directions on the d-pad to change to different grenade types.
  6. Pressing right on the d-pad opens a similar menu for your different abilities like the Drop Wall, Threat Sensor, and Grappling Hook.
  7. You can use the Grappling Hook to yank the shields off Jackals.
  8. Fully upgrading the Grappling Hook can allow you to use it to swing around the world like Spider-Man, it’s fun!
  9. You can fast travel to an FOB once you’ve captured it from the Banished.
  10. Capturing an FOB will reveal the locations of Spartan Cores, Mjolnir Armories, and side content in the surrounding area on your map.
  11. Find Spartan Cores in UNSC boxes around the world to upgrade your abilities.
  12. Eliminating High Value Targets unlocks unique weapon variants that are a ton of fun to use. They can be picked up from the HVT’s camp, or from your FOB.
  13. Your FOB can be used to call in different vehicles by interacting with the small plinth with a Mongoose hologram above it.
  14. Interact with the boxes with weapon holograms over them at your FOB. Press and hold X and you can spawn different weapons, including the unique weapon variants unlocked by defeating HVTs or from earning Valor.
  15. Your Valor isn’t a currency you spend, but is cumulative. The more you earn, the more you’ll unlock to call in from your FOBs. You can check your progress in the FOB menu screen.
  16. UNSC Marines are actually pretty powerful. When you’re embarking on a side content mission, try and get them to join you on a vehicle. They can help thin out enemy forces.
  17. Difficulty cannot be changed in-game. Instead, you’ll need to return to the Campaign menu and select ‘Load Game.’ You can then select a save and update your difficulty settings, and apply the effects of any Skulls you’ve found.
  18. Can’t find a Spartan Core or Mjolnir Armory that’s marked on your map? It might be hiding underground. Look for concealed entrances nearby to find your way in.
  19. Using your Ordnance ability reveals your objective marker. Use this when you’re not sure where to go next.
  20. There’s a Quality and Performance toggle, allowing you to change between graphics settings that favor resolution and framerate.
  21. Plasma and Shock weapons deal massive damage to enemy shields. Make sure you carry one around at all times to quickly take care of shields, then use a kinetic weapon like the BR to quickly deplete their health bar.
  22. Up close with an enemy and ran out of ammo? Use your melee to quickly kill them. It’s incredibly effective.
  23. The game won’t tell you when you’ve reached a point of no return to the open-world. However, you will be able to freely explore it after the credits.
  24. Don’t always zip around with your Grappling Hook. You’ll miss out on plenty of smaller, hidden details around the world if you do.
  25. Energy Shield Doors can block you from objectives and collectibles, use your Ordnance ability (down on d-pad) to reveal wires which lead to their power sources. Destroy power sources to disable the energy shield door.
