After a long wait, Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have finally been released for the Nintendo Switch. These are full remakes of the original Diamond and Pearl games that got released for the Game Boy and they come with improved graphics, along with several quality-of-life improvements and gameplay changes that help make the overall experience smoother. Getting Spiritomb in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

First off, you’ll need an item called the Odd Keystone, and we have a guide here detailing how to get and use it. Essentially, you can get the Odd Keystone from an NPC on Route 208, then head over to Route 209 to use it on the Hallowed Tower.

After that, use the Explorer’s Kit to head into the Grand Underground, and speak with 32 trainers to get the Hallowed Tower to activate and spawn Spiritomb. This can be a bit of a grind, especially since the trainer spawn locations in the Grand Underground seem to be pretty random.

You can also connect to the Grand Underground via an internet connection and speak with 32 other players instead, and that will also count for the requirement.

Either way, once you’ve spoken to 32 trainers, head back up to the Hallowed Tower and interact with it, and this will trigger an encounter with Spiritomb. Make sure to save your game before doing this, just in case you fail to capture it.

Spiritomb is a Ghost and Dark-type hybrid Pokemon, which means that it’s primarily weak to Fairy-type moves. You’ll want to avoid using Normal, Fighting, or Psychic-type Pokemon against it as those won’t have any effect, but any moves outside of that will work just fine.
