Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword HD: How to Get Money (Rupees) Fast

If you’re just diving into Skyward Sword for the very first time with the remaster or if you’re revisiting the game after playing the original years ago, you’ll find that there are a ton of things to spend Rupees on.

Like in nearly every other Zelda game, Rupees are the main form of currency used to buy goods. You can spend them on things like items in Beedle’s store, gear upgrades, admission for mini-games, and more. But these things are expensive, and you might be wondering how to afford them all. Here’s how to get money (Rupees) fast in Skyward Sword HD.

How to Get Rupees in Skyward Sword HD

There are many ways to get lots of Rupees quickly in Skyward Sword HD, so we’ll tell you a few easy methods.

As you’re playing the game, you’ll occasionally see big, purple cubes around the regions on the surface. These are called Goddess Cubes. Sometimes they are lodged partially into the ground or are in hard-to-reach places, and by using a skyward strike on them, they’ll disappear into the air.

These Goddess Cubes activate treasure chests throughout the sky and will be located on your map. Many of these treasure chests have large amounts of Rupees in them.

Another great way to get Rupees fast is to sell bugs to Strich. First, you’ll need to make sure you buy the Bug Net from Beedle’s Shop for 50 Rupees. Hey, it takes money to make money.

All across both Skyloft and the surface, there will be various bugs for you to catch with the net. The bugs can be used to make potions, but Strich will buy them for a lot of Rupees. He can be found in the Knight Academy at night.

Additionally, treasure can be sold for Rupees. Treasures such as amber relics, golden skulls, monster claws, and more can be used to upgrade your gear, but a character named Rupin will buy them from you for a lot of Rupees. He can be found in his house in Skyloft at night.

Those are the fastest ways to get Rupees, but at first, you’ll only be able to carry 300 Rupees at a time. There are a number of opportunities to upgrade your wallet to carry more.

The easiest but most expensive way is to upgrade your wallet at Beedle’s air shop, but it costs money and the upgrades are small.

It will take some time, but to get the best wallet upgrades are to help Batreaux find Gratitude Crystals. He’ll upgrade your wallet to have much higher capacities after bringing him many Gratitude Crystals. You’ll want to make sure you upgrade before maxing out.

Those are all of the best ways to get Rupees fast in Skyward Sword HD. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to check out our Skyward Sword HD guide wiki.
