Sonic Prime, That Rumored Netflix 3D Animated Series, is Officially Confirmed
A new 3D animated series featuring Sonic the Hedgehog was accidentally leaked last year and rumored for some time, but it was officially confirmed today by Netflix and Sonic himself. The new series, called Sonic Prime, will premiere sometime in 2022 on Netflix.
All of the details that were accidentally tweeted out by NX on Netflix last year turned out to be accurate. Sonic Prime will be created by Wild Brain (Yo Gabba Gabba) and Man of Action (Ben 10).
Not much else is known at this point but tomorrow is Hedgehog Day, so it would be fair to expect more Sonic-related news of some kind. There could be more details revealed about Sonic Prime, but we’re also due for some Sonic video game-related news as well. We’ll find out tomorrow either way.
Most recently Roger Craig Smith, the voice of Sonic for the last ten years, decided to step down from the role. It’s unknown at this time who will end up replacing him.
