As you explore Lake Lapcat as Mario, Bowser Jr will tag along for the ride. Your unlikely companion isn’t just there to look pretty, though, he’s actually got some handy abilities he can put to use. Alongside collecting coins and bopping enemies on the head for you, Bowser Jr. can also investigate graffiti scrawled on walls and other surfaces in Bowser’s Fury, revealing something which they might be hiding.
Exactly what the graffiti will contain varies depending on what the scrawling is. Sometimes it can be a power-up that you can store to be used at a later date, other times it’s a golden pipe leading to a small room teeming with coins, enemies, and potentially even a Cat Shine.
How to Get Bowser Jr. to Investigate Graffiti
Whenever you see this graffiti, you want to press R on your Nintendo Switch and simply tap on the graffiti on the touchscreen, or use the motion controls if your console is docked to move the pointer on-screen over the graffiti, and press R again to confirm.
This will then send Bowser Jr. off to investigate the graffiti, who will often give it a few extra swipes of his paintbrush to finish it off and reveal its secrets.
If you’re playing in co-op, the player controlling Bowser Jr. simply has to fly over to the graffiti and interact with it, rather than being told to by the player controlling Mario.
There’s a ton of graffiti scattered across the islands of Lake Lapcat, so you’ll need to keep your eyes peeled to find them all.
