Watch Dogs Legion: Can You Customize & Buy Cars? Answered

Watch Dogs Legion is the latest entry in Ubisoft’s open-world sci-fi series, and it also marks a pretty radical departure from its predecessors. Now, players will be able to recruit virtually any NPC they encounter in the open-world to DedSec’s cause and play as them for the entirety of the game. If you’re wondering whether you can customize and buy cars in Watch Dogs Legion, here’s what you need to know.

Can You Buy Cars in Watch Dogs Legion?

To cut right to the chase, no, you cannot buy cars in Watch Dogs Legion. The only way to get a vehicle in the game is by stealing one off the streets and walking up to it and holding the triangle or Y button, or by swapping over to an operative who already owns a vehicle.

For instance, the spy operative comes with a car. You can hold down on the d-pad to access your equipment wheel, then use the right stick to summon the car. If you want to actually purchase new vehicles, though, unfortunately that’s just not possible in the game.

Customizing Vehicles

In addition to that, the vehicle customization in this game isn’t exactly all that robust either. The only form of customization available here is the paint job; if you were hoping to be able to change up your vehicle parts and other more granular details, you’re unfortunately out of luck.

To change the paint job, bring up your menu and go to the Team tab. Select an operative with a vehicle and edit them, then select the vehicle. From here, you’ll see a whole set of available paint jobs you can choose from.

These can get plenty expensive, so if you want to unlock all of them, make sure to farm up some Eto as well. Exclusive paint jobs can also be bought from the Ubisoft store for some real money, but we wouldn’t recommend doing that unless you find something you really, really want.
