How to Level Up Fast in Genshin Impact
Leveling up in Genshin impact is both automatic and able to be actioned manually. That is to say, in addition to gaining EXP and leveling as you play, you can earn EXP bundles and then apply them to specific characters to gain levels.
As for the best ways to level up quickly, there are one or two tried and true methods — though none of them are shortcuts.
The first is to complete quests given to you throughout the game. In addition to the experience earned from killing enemies during quests, you’ll also be granted a large lump sum of EXP once the quest is completed. This will be applied to all of the characters in your party upon completion of the quest too, so you won’t have to worry about too many characters being outpaced at once.
The other method is to use Experience items through the Attributes tab of the Characters menu to grant specific characters large sums of EXP on command. These include:
- Wanderer’s Advice – 1000 EXP
- Adventurer’s Experience – 5000 EXP
- Hero’s Wit – 20000 EXP
These bundles are most readily gained by completing quests, opening treasure chests and exchanging items at the Shop. However, they can also be gained when you claim Exclusive Rewards and when you return Anemoculus to their respective Statues of the Seven.

Once used, these items can help you to level up a character you’ve just unlocked so that they’re more in line with the rest of your party. Likewise, they can be used to over-level a favorite character you have, allowing you to create an ace in the hole for most any combat situation.
That’s all there is to it really. Defeating every enemy you encounter in Genshin Impact’s dungeons and out in the world nets you a decent chunk of experience all on its own, and you shouldn’t encounter too many occasions where you need to grind endlessly if you’re using the methods listed above.
