While Super Mario Sunshine may have originally released back in 2002, the game is now back in the spotlight following the release of Super Mario 3D All-Stars on the Nintendo Switch. The game packs in Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy into one complete package.

How to Unlock Corona Mountain in Super Mario Sunshine

To unlock Corona Mountain, players must beat the Shadow Mario boss fights in each of the game’s seven worlds. In other words, start and complete the seventh level in each of the game’s seven worlds.

Upon doing this, Mario will return to Delfino Plaza to find it’s now underwater, but the door leading to Corona Mountain will be open.

At this point, all you need to do is walk on through the door to Corona Mountain and the level will be loaded up for you. Alongside the final boss battle you’ll need to beat in order to complete Super Mario Sunshine, you’ll also find a handful of blue coins you can add to your collection.

There’s no way you can possibly miss unlocking Corona Mountain in Super Mario Sunshine, as long as you’re planning to finish the game. You don’t need to have collected a certain number of Shines or Blue Coins for the level to unlock. Simply beat Shadow Mario seven times and the way to the final boss battle will open up before you.

Keep in mind that Corona Mountain is the last level in the game for a good reason. It’s incredibly tricky and will push your platforming skills to their limits.

That’s everything you need to know on how to unlock Corona Mountain in Super Mario Sunshine. For more tips, tricks, and guides, you can head over to our Super Mario 3D All-Stars wiki, search for Twinfinite, or see if any of the other guides below tickle your pickle!
