Final Fantasy XIV is a very story-focused MMO experience and you could probably spend all your time in the game just doing story stuff while ignoring side content, and you’d still get a few hundred hours of content out of it. But if you really want to get into the true end game of FFXIV, glamour is where it’s at. Here’s how to unlock the glamour dresser in FFXIV.
Unlocking the Glamour Dresser in FFXIV
The glamour dresser won’t be available to you right at the very start of the game. Once you’ve hit level 15 with your first class and can now travel to all three major cities, you’ll want to go to Western Thanalan, Horizon. From there, head west towards Vesper Bay and speak with the NPC named Swyrgeim to take on the quest titled Absolutely Glamourous.
This is an extremely straightforward quest that only requires you to pick up orange juice from a nearby NPC and give it to him, and you’ll have completed it. After that, you’ll be able to access the glamour dresser at the inn rooms in any of the major cities.
Speak with the innkeep to enter your private room, then interact with the glamour dresser in the corner. From here, you can now store pieces of clothing and use them to create glamour plates.
Do note that you need to use a glamour prism to store an item in the dresser, and prisms can either be crafted, bought from the marketboard, or purchased with Grand Company Seals by talking to the GC Quartermaster.
With the dresser, you can now create up to 15 glamour plates, which are basically preset outfits that you can apply to your equipped gear so they take on the appearance of your desired outfits. One other thing to note is that if you want to revert the appearance of your armor, you’ll need to use glamour dispellers, which can also be purchased from the marketboard or with GC Seals.
