After a long wait, patch 5.3 is finally available in Final Fantasy XIV, and it’s a big one. While some of the major content like the continuation of the Resistance weapon quests and Ishgard Restoration arc have been pushed back, there’s still a lot to look forward to, such as the new story content and NieR: Automata-themed raid. Here’s how to continue the MSQ in FFXIV patch 5.3.
Continuing the MSQ in FFXIV Patch 5.3
First things first, there are a couple of major requirements you need to meet before you can continue the story. You’ll need to have completed all story quests up to the previous patch, including the final mission titled Echoes of a Fallen Star.
In addition to that, you also need to have completed the Crystal Tower Alliance raids and missions from the A Realm Reborn era. Specifically, you need to complete the Crystal Tower quest titled The Light of Hope in order to access the new story content. This isn’t too surprising, considering how tightly linked the Shadowbringers story has been to the Crystal Tower raids from 2.0.
And of course, your character needs to be at the level 80 cap, which you would’ve already reached just by playing through the Shadowbringers arc.
The new MSQ mission is titled In the Name of the Light, and the Manager of Suites will be the quest giver for this one. Head to the Crystarium and go to the resting suites, and you’ll find the Manager at X:12.5, Y:16.2.
Simply talk to him and he’ll give you the quest, and you’ll be able to dive straight into the new story content for this patch. There’s a new dungeon to look forward to as the Shadowbringers story arc finally comes to a close.
