Expanded Preconditions Utility Tool
New Stardew Valley Mods July 2020
Likely the most popular ‘mod’ (it’s really a mod tool) out last month, the expanded preconditions utility mod offers a conditions system any mod can use when being downloaded to your PC copy of Stardew Valley.
It is essentially a modding tool for SMAPI mods that adds a condition checking system, specifically for mods that have content packs with more files.
If a mod has this mod as a requirement, all you need to do is download and drop it into your mods folder for it to work properly.
Waterproof Items
New Stardew Valley Mods July 2020
As the name states, this mod allows your items in Stardew Valley to become waterproof. No longer will you have to worry about losing precious materials while harvesting near a body of water.
It works for both pond/lake and ocean water, and works for every type of item as long as you are able to drop it.
The mod also includes an option to allow the fallen items to automatically teleport to the nearest player, making them easier to retrieve.
Familiars
New Stardew Valley Mods July 2020
This mod lets you hatch and raise five different familiars. If you’re not familiar with familiars, they are supernatural entities from Medieval and Early Modern folklore that would cause mischief and help witches.
The familiars include:
- A Dust, which can destroy rocks and steal stuff from monsters.
- Dino, which can breathe fire at monsters.
- A Bat, which can bite monsters.
- A Junimo, which can heal its owner’s health and stamina periodically when nearby.
- A Butterfly, which can give its owner a random buff periodically when nearby.
They are great to bring down into the mines for backup, especially the Dino or Bat that can fight monsters alongside you.
Familiars will follow your character everywhere, and can never die. They start out tiny and weak but grow and get stronger with experience over time.
If you want a familiar to stop following you for a while, you can keep them in Slime Hutches as well.
Custom Quest Framework
New Stardew Valley Mods July 2020
In Stardew Valley, quests are set objectives that grant the player rewards upon completion. The vanilla game comes with numerous quests to complete at the request of NPCs, and both story and ‘Help Wanted’ quests are kept track of in the quest journal.
This mod is a tool that allows you to make totally custom quests for the first time, offering players a new opportunity to be creative within their own game.
It lets you create custom quests, define custom quest types, and handle quests all within the tool.
Solo Four Corners Farm
New Stardew Valley Mods July 2020
This mod, which was one of the most downloaded mods out last month, offers a re-imagining of the vanilla four corners farm map that works better for both single and multiplayer games.
It comes with optional pre-built indestructible fences, troughs that act as a water source for can refilling, invisible barriers in pens to keep animals in, and it works with the Stardew Valley Expanded mod.
It also makes the cave slightly bigger and moves it closer to the house for easier access.
Mobile Phone
New Stardew Valley Mods July 2020
This super impressive mod adds new HUD options in the form of a mobile phone that pops up in the corner of your game screen.
The pre-installed phone app lets you talk to friendly villagers from anywhere in Stardew Valley, and you can create and add apps to the smartphone interface for an alternative to hotkeys.
A lost of mods that have compatibility with the mobile phone interface include:
- Arcade 2048
- Arcade Snake
- Chess
- CJB Cheat Menu Mobile App
- CJB Item Spawner Mobile App
- Custom Reminders
- Mobile Arcade
- Mobile Audio Player
- Mobile Catalogues
- Plato Warp Menu
- Quotes
- Video Player
So you’ll be able to use all these tools within your game of Stardew Valley itself, all thanks to your new mobile phone.
Vibrant Pastoral Recolor
New Stardew Valley Mods July 2020
As you can see from the image above, this mod gives you a total recolor of the entire world of Stardew Valley from dull vanilla (right) to bright and vibrant (left).
It changes for all four seasons, and has a ton of new details with pops of color everywhere. The mod creator grapeponta says it grants, “a map recolor with a gentler, but still rich and vivid color palette.”
It also has terrain flower replacements, seasonal holiday decor, and opaque water. It even adds a recolor to the mine levels as well, and an option to choose a more green fall palette as opposed to browns and oranges.
Abandoned Bride Custom NPC
New Stardew Valley Mods July 2020
This custom NPC mod is super creative, offering up a mysterious story of a bride found screaming in the woods.
For the story of the abandoned bride to progress, you must befriend her and increase your relationship to see all the custom heart events.
The mod creator Brimini states the inspiration for this custom NPC story comes from Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations. The mod creator also has had two other custom NPC mods released recently including a gentleman from Korea and a college student named Mike who was featured in our June 2020’s best Stardew Valley mods line-up.
Artisan Equipment for Sale
New Stardew Valley Mods July 2020
This mod makes it so all the shop owners sell artisan equipment every Thursday after you have unlocked the equipment and earned the shopowner’s friendship.
Shopowners that sell equipment include Robin, Marnie, Pierre, Clint, Krobus, Willy, Marlon, Sandy, and Dwarf.
There are 20 artisanal items to purchase in all, so make sure to go and befriend all the shopkeepers to reap the benefits.
Transparent Objects
New Stardew Valley Mods July 2020
If you’re tired of forgetting what crops are hidden behind tall object in Stardew Valley, this mod will be perfect for you.
It lets you make big craftables like furnaces and scarecrows become transparent as soon as you get close to them, letting you see what’s behind them more easily.
You can adjust the minimum transparency and maximum distance to your liking, and all the objects that become transparent will be marked as bigCraftable within the mod.
No more triple watering that crop hidden behind a scarecrow hat just to be safe.
