If you have not purchased the Pokemon Sword and Shield expansion pass, you will not be able to capture a Fomantis in the wild, but thanks to a new update, you can now bring Fomantis into your game by trading or through Pokemon Home.

How to Get a Fomantis in Pokemon Sword and Shield

Before you we get into details on how to evolve Fomantis into Lurantis, let’s go over where you can catch a Fomantis, just in case you don’t have one in your party yet.

In the Isle of Armor area, you’ll be able to find a Fomantis in the Soothing Wetlands, Fields of Honor, Forest of Focus, Challenge Beach, and Training Lowlands. It seems easy enough, but you can only find it when the sun is intense. So if it’s raining or cloudy, you won’t have any chance of finding one.

How to Evolve Fomantis Into Lurantis in Pokemon Sword & Shield

Once you finally have a Fomantis in your Poke-party, all you need to do is make sure that it hits level 34 or above during the daytime. As long as it’s not dark outside in your game, you should be good to go.
