Fusion Alarm System in Persona 5 Royal Explained

About partway through the game, once you’ve recruited Makoto to your party and have gained access to Kaneshiro’s dungeon, you’ll be able to start making use of the Fusion Alarm system in Persona 5 Royal. This is a random phenomenon that can occur after consecutive battles without breaks.

When you go back to the dungeon entrance, Caroline and Justine will summon you to the Velvet Room where the lights have turned red, and sirens have started blaring. During this time, the Fusion Alarm will be activated, which means that any Persona Fusion you perform will cause the resulting Persona to be even more powerful than usual.

How to Trigger It

As mentioned previously, there’s no surefire way to trigger a Fusion Alarm in Persona 5 Royal. As far as we can tell, the best way is to spend as much time in a dungeon as possible without leaving or going back to the Velvet Room. This will ensure that you’re going through an extremely long string of battles without break, increasing your chances of getting a Fusion Alarm.

It’s worth noting that you can still go back to save rooms to heal up and use items, as long as you don’t exit the dungeon completely or even go back to the exit.

Once you’ve cleared enough battles, you’ll start to hear the Velvet Room siren, which means that you can now take advantage of the Fusion Alarm.

How to Use the Fusion Alarm System

Under the effects of the Fusion Alarm, any new Personas you fuse will be more powerful than usual. They won’t gain extra levels, but their stats will receive quite a substantial boost. If you’re looking to fuse some strong Personas, this is definitely a good time to do it.

However, there is a caveat. When Fusion Alarm is active, the chances of getting a fusion accident are greatly increased. In addition to that, the more you try to fuse, the chances of getting an accident on your next attempt will also increase. Once you get an accident, Fusion Alarm will end, and everything will go back to normal.

You can also end Fusion Alarm by entering and exiting the Velvet Room, or by talking to Caroline and Justine in the Velvet Room to get them to end it.

One final thing to note is that if you use a Persona you just got during this time for yet another fusion process, the strengthening effects for the next Persona you fuse will be increased again. It’s a risky procedure, especially since you can very easily end up with a Persona that you don’t want, but the rewards are definitely tempting.

That’s all you need to know about the Fusion Alarm system in Persona 5 Royal. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
