A long time after its reveal, and almost a year since it entered early access, Dreams has launched for PS4. Alongside a huge suite of creation tools and levels to play through, there are trophies to unlock and XP to earn. So that you can get the platinum and unlock more Imps, here’s everything you need to know about how to earn XP and level up in Dreams.
XP isn’t all that useful in Media Molecule’s game. You’ll see your level in the middle of your profile screen in the menu, and you’ll unlock some trophies as you reach certain levels.
How to Earn XP & Level Up in Dreams
If you head to the main menu in the game by pressing Options, and then select your profile in the top right, you’ll be taken to the section of the game that shows off your Imp Quest progression and customized Imp.
This is where you can organize your XP earning and level up efforts in Dreams. The first thing we’d recommend doing is working through the Dream Shaping creation tutorials.
Actually playing user created levels doesn’t offer much XP, with chances to level up mostly coming as you begin to make levels of you own.
Completing those tutorials is smart because many of them are tied to Imp Quests and those Imp Quests often reward you with XP, as well as new Imp designs.
You can track the progress of them by selecting Imp Quest Progression in your profile screen. You can see what each one requires of you and what you get in return. You can then decide from there which one you want to try and complete next.
Just start working though those, playing the Dream Shaping mode, and you’ll start to level up quickly in no time.
