Star Citizen has seen a lot of activity since the release of alpha 3.8, and this seems to have also sparked more pledges from new and existing backers.
The crowdfunding total was at $259,140,174 on Christmas, and now it has passed 261 million dollars. More precisely, it’s at $261,395,217 at the moment of this writing.
This means that backers pledged over 2 million dollars in less than ten days.
The number of registered accounts has also grown, from 2,474,044 to 2,487,688. As usual, it’s known that not all of them are paying players. The number includes free accounts created for a variety of reasons.
With content and gameplay expanding with every major update of the alpha, it looks like more and more decide to join while existing backers also increase their level of investment in the game.
