breakpoint, delayed update 1.1.0 delayed

Ghost Recon: Breakpoint Update 1.1.0 Delayed Indefinitely

Ubisoft has taken to Ghost Recon: Breakpoint’s forums to announce the delay of Update 1.1.0, which was originally scheduled to go live tomorrow, Dec. 18. The publisher explains the delay has been issued to “ensure its quality.”

Update 1.1.0 was set to issue bug fixes and quality of life improvements, changes to the base jump mechanic, the introduction of night vision goggles, as well better enemy AI.

Ubisoft’s forum post reads:

“In our December Update we announced that we would have our next TU, 1.1.0, live on the 18th. After careful consideration by the development team, we are choosing to delay the release of the TU until the latter half of January to ensure its quality.

Our goal is to deliver you polished content and meaningful bug fixes, to do that we need a little more time. This means that the Terminator Live Event and the fixes referenced in the monthly update will be coming to you in the new year.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we put the final touches on TU 1.1.0.”

There’s obviously no word on a new release date as yet, and a quick glance at the responses from players over on the forums isn’t very positive.

Ghost Recon: Breakpoint hasn’t enjoyed critical or commercial success since launch, which Ubisoft admitted was disappointing in a recent financial call. The publisher blamed a lack of understanding of the live service game market, which doesn’t work with its typical annual release strategy.

Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. You can read out review impressions here.
