The Season of Dawn is finally underway in Destiny 2, which means that there’s a brand new Season Pass for you to rank up and unlock new rewards from. There are also three new Exotic weapons added into the game, and one of them is the Symmetry. Here’s how to get Destiny 2’s Symmetry Catalyst and what it does.
How to Get the Symmetry Catalyst in Destiny 2
First things first, you’ll need to actually obtain the Symmetry itself. This can be done by either purchasing the Season Pass, or ranking up through the free Pass.
If you buy the Season Pass for 1,000 Silver, you’ll unlock the gun in the first tier of rewards. If you choose to rank up the free Pass, you’ll need to get to level 35 in order to unlock it.
Whichever method you choose, once you get the weapon, go ahead and talk to Banshee in the Tower, and he’ll inform you that he’s working on a new Catalyst for the gun. He’ll then give you the Symmetry Remastered quest.
This is a very straightforward Exotic quest, but like most other things in Destiny 2, it’s also very time-consuming. To get the Symmetry Catalyst, you’ll need to earn 400 points in any of the following activities:
- Sundial
- Strikes
- Gambit
- Crucible
- Nightfalls
In addition to that, you need to have the weapon itself equipped, or it won’t count towards your completion progress. (UPDATE: You no longer need to have Symmetry equipped for your activity participation to count towards your progress. In addition to that, if you’re still working on the previously released Eriana’s Vow quest, you no longer need to equip the Hand Cannon for progression as well.)
Once you’ve done so, you’ll be able to get a new and straightforward quest step from Banshee, and get the Symmetry Catalyst itself after, which helps to increase your Dynamic Charge cap to let you deal more damage.
To recap, here’s how to get the Symmetry Catalyst in Destiny 2:
- Obtain the Symmetry.
This can be done by purchasing the Season Pass or ranking up the free Pass to 35.
- Talk to Banshee to get the quest.
- Earn 400 points in any activity: Sundial, Strikes, Gambit, Crucible, or Nightfall.
