These cores are required at one point during the Destiny 2: Shadowkeep campaign. You will not be able to progress to the final mission of the campaign if you do not obtain a full set of Dreambane Armor. And the essences needed to obtain the Dreambane Armor are obtainable only via these cores.

To get more Phantasmal Cores you have a couple of options. The weekly Lectern of Enchantment bounty will give you a one as a reward upon completion. Definitely take that one right away once you have the Lectern and complete it each week for an easy Core.

After that, you’ll need to exchange 20 blue fragments to the Lectern in order to receive one Phantasmal Core. You can check our guide for fragments if you want a detailed breakdown on how to get those, but in short, you’ll need to complete bounties and kill nightmare enemies.

After you get the Phantasmal Core, you’ll want to exchange it for one of the essences that the Lectern has for sale. Each one rewards a different piece of the Dreambane Armor that you can re-roll for better stats. Remember, with Armor 2.0, you have a lot more to consider when it comes to statistics, which perks you want to slot in, and even elements and how they effect your weapons as well.
