In a recent interview with IGN, Overwatch Director, Jeff Kaplan, stated that he would allow Nintendo to use any one of their characters to use in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Although there are plenty of new characters coming to Overwatch all the time, there are only a few that would make a great Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fighter.
With that being said, here are 5 Overwatch characters that should guest star in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Tracer
Tracer is the most iconic Hero in Overwatch. Not only is she on the box art for the game, but she has become a favorite amongst Overwatch fans for her progressive backstory and unique abilities that are unlike anyone else.
Speaking of her one-of-a-kind abilities, this is what makes Tracer a perfect candidate to make the leap into Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Due to Smash being played on a 2D plane, Tracer’s Blink ability would make a seamless transition into Smash Bros. Ultimate. Being able to phase past her opponents would give her strong evasive abilities that would allow her to stand up against the best of them.
However, there are some abilities that may be a little more difficult to balance.
Tracer’s Recall ability may need to be altered if she made the jump to Smash Bros. Ultimate.
If you thought Kirby was cheap, imagine how annoying it would be to knock Tracer off the map, only for her to continuously recall back to the stage and never die.
Simply adding a cooldown or limitation to this ability would easily eliminate the issue and ensure that Tracer is not overpowered if she makes the jump and becomes a Smash Bros. Ultimate character.
